FCTC written test practice

The FCTC written test is California’s, developed by the California Firefighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee and sat at FCTC centres: 100 multiple-choice questions in two hours, after a separate 30-minute period for reading essays that are then taken away. Its free study guide prints the split — 20 video recall, 25 mechanical reasoning, 20 maths, 35 recall and comprehension of written material — which makes it the best-documented test in this category. Is there an official FCTC practice test?
Yes, and it is worth knowing exactly what it is. FCTC publishes a free study guide covering all four sections with worked concepts and sample questions, and separately sells a 100-question online practice test of actual questions from past exams for $25, a $25 online prep course and a $25 in-person class. Is this site affiliated with FCTC?
No, and FCTC warns candidates about this specifically: materials from FCTC and Cal-JAC are the only authorised FCTC materials, and outside vendors have no affiliation with it. Nothing here is a past FCTC question or endorsed by them. These are original questions written to the skills its own study guide describes, and the guide itself is linked on every page in this family.
Can I bring a calculator?
No. FCTC does not allow personal belongings into the testing facility at all — the list it publishes includes cell phones, watches, hats, food and drink, water bottles, backpacks, notebooks and calculators.
