Wonderlic SLE practice test
The Scholastic Level Exam is the admissions form of the same cognitive test used in hiring: 50 questions in 12 minutes. There is also a shorter Quicktest — 30 questions in 8 — for remote administration. Both clocks run below.
SLE full length
50 questions. 12 minutes.
That is 14.4 seconds a question. The clock starts when you press the button and submits the test when it runs out. You will not be told whether an answer was right until the end — that is the point of a timed run.
2 free full-length runs left on this test. Unlimited for $24.99, one payment.
The Quicktest form
30 questions in 8 minutes. Fewer questions, and slightly more time for each — but the same triage problem, and the same rule about not trying to finish.
SLE Quicktest
30 questions. 8 minutes.
That is 16 seconds a question. The clock starts when you press the button and submits the test when it runs out. You will not be told whether an answer was right until the end — that is the point of a timed run.

Same test, different room
The SLE and the cognitive section of Wonderlic Select are the same fifty questions in the same twelve minutes. What differs is who is reading the result and what they are asking it: an employer asks whether you will learn the job, a programme asks whether you will finish the course.
Practically, that means everything on the Wonderlic pages here applies to the SLE — the question types, the pacing, and the fact that the test is not designed to be completed.
Frequently asked
- What is the Wonderlic SLE?
- The Scholastic Level Exam — Wonderlic’s cognitive ability test in its admissions form: 50 questions in 12 minutes, proctored, online or on paper.
- How long is the SLE Quicktest?
- 30 questions in 8 minutes. Wonderlic describes it as suited to distance learners, who can take it remotely.
- Is the SLE the same as the Wonderlic used in hiring?
- It is the same 50-question, 12-minute cognitive test, put to a different use. That is why one set of practice questions serves both, and why the pacing advice is identical.
- What score do I need?
- The institution decides, and Wonderlic does not publish a threshold. Its own material describes the report as indicating suitability for particular programmes — which means the bar is set by the programme, not by the test.
