Wonderlic vs Wonderlic Select

Wonderlic’s candidate FAQ describes Wonderlic Select — “formerly Wonscore” — as three sections, one timed and two untimed. Most people complete the whole thing in about 35 minutes.

The cognitive section is 50 questions in 12 minutes — the shape everyone means by “the Wonderlic test”, and the same one used in the Scholastic Level Exam for admissions. Wonderlic describes its content as simple maths, basic logic, language comprehension, spatial reasoning and pattern identification, becoming harder as the test goes on.

So when a job posting says “Wonderlic”, and when a nursing programme says “SLE”, and when a page here says “12-minute test”, all three point at the same fifty questions. That is why this site has one bank behind all of them rather than three pretending to be different.

The personality section is 150 statements and the motivation section asks you to rank work activities in sets of three. Neither has right answers. Wonderlic weights the three sections differently depending on the job, so there is no single answer pattern that scores well.

Answer them the way you would actually work. The scoring is a comparison against a profile for the role, and a set of answers engineered to look ideal is both detectable across 150 items and pointless if it lands you in a job the profile said you would dislike.

Candidates get a Candidate Feedback Report from a link at the end of the assessment. The employer sees a score Wonderlic computes from your response pattern, weighting questions by difficulty and by the effect of guessing — which is why the number an employer sees is not simply how many you got right, and why no practice site can reproduce it.
